Greenmiles wins Weconomy competition

Greenmiles GmbH, along with eight other companies, has won the Weconomy competition (http://www.weconomy.de/). This competition rewards promising business ideas and brings young entrepreneurs together with managing directors and CEOs. The Prize: An invitation to a networking weekend in an exclusive working environment at the end of June 2007. At this event, the competition winners can confer with top-managers in confidential sessions and profit from their experience. Also participating: Dr. Jürgen Hambrecht, Chairman of the Board of the chemical corporation BASF and Franz Fehrenbach, Chairman of the management board of Robert Bosch GmbH.
From approximately 100 applications, the ten member jury judged eight business ideas from completely different industries to show promise. The jury was particularly pleased with the timely offer of Greenmiles GmbH that makes it possible to reconcile personal mobility with individual responsibility for climate protection.
Greenmiles offers all travelers the opportunity to offset the CO2 emissions from their travels by supporting a climate protection project in accordance with the standards of the United Nations and thereby contribute to climate protection. The offsetting is possible before or after the each trip and is available to both private individuals and business travelers.
Weconomy is a joint-action of the “Wissenfabrik” (Knowledge Factory) (http://www.wissensfabrik-deutschland.de/), an association of German companies promoting the economy and “karriere” (career) magazine for employment and business (http://www.karriere.de) by the Handelsblatt group of publishing companies.
