The Steigenberger Hotel Berlin in the first hotel group in Germany to feature certified CO₂ neutral meetings.

All the conference rooms in the new convention center of the five star Berlin hotel have been completely redesigned with environmental considerations in mind. The modern design combines ergonomic comfort with high-quality materials backed by a clean industry certificate.

For example, all the carpets are made of wool which contain no synthetic fibers and the conference room chairs were manufactured without using plastic materials and were stained with a water-soluble varnish. Attention was also paid to using low-emission building materials in the painting, wallpaper, and veneers as well as 100 percent renewable electricity. The cost of the entire construction was approximately 10 million Euros.

The catering for conference breaks offers organic, ecological and culinary options. The products have been purchased from organic farms and, where possible, regional providers. Thus, not only is wholesome nutrition considered but through shorter transportation routes and low-emission, nature-friendly production the CO₂ footprint is also reduced.

By partnering with Greenmiles, a company that supports approved climate protection projects, the Steigenberger Hotel Berlin is able to offset the emissions from a conference or overnight stay that cannot be avoided. The Hotel also provides the conference participant with a TÜV-approved certificate for organizing its event CO₂ neutrally.
