How To Reduce Your Carbon Footprint
It is well known be now: In order to minimize the negative impacts of climate change, CO2 emissions have to be reduced. Everyone can help decrease some of his individual CO2 emissions and thereby reduce the so-called carbon footprint.
The Greenmiles calculator, does not only assist you in how to calculate your carbon footprint, indeed you also get fresh ideas for things you can undertake personally to make a positive contribution towards climate protection.
1. Avoidance
The most convenient way to reduce CO2 emissions is through changes in behaviour. From recommended ventilation up to holiday re-planning from foreign destination back to your country – opportunities extend across all areas of everyday life. Best of all: Who avoids usually saves money!
Travelling from point A to B does not always require taking an airplane; a train trip might be as convenient. A new refrigerator or efficient heating system provides the opportunity to generate the same performance with lesser emissions. Valuable tips on how to avoid and reduce CO2 emissions, can be found here downloaded here (pdf-Acrobatreader required).
3. Offset
Not all emissions can be avoided or reduced. Example, if you do not want to immediately get rid of your car, you still can help, with the aid of carbon offsettin, protect the environment. This is done by reducing your calculated emissions through financial contribution to an approved environmental protection project in a different place (more information here). The opportunity to offset can be obtained at the end of your CO2 calculation within the carbon calculator.
